Decades of development expertise

At Terrena we have amassed a wealth of expertise in the form and function of developments both industrial and domestic and in their environmental management. This expertise has been built over several decades through our team members working on numerous projects covering all aspects of development from their initial concepts through their design to their long-term management.  The background of the team means that we have expertise in road and drainage design, especially Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDs), having a national leader in the design and promotions of SuDs on the team.  We are also adept at surveying, site supervision, landscape design, arboricultural management, habitat management, ecological enhancement and landscape maintenance.  This combination means that we have a holistic and practical approach to the management of open spaces and we can identify risks and opportunities that give developers confidence in working with us and resident’s confidence that we will manage their open space as a pleasant place to be.

Our Experience

Our team’s experience has been accrued by working on many housing and industrial developments, both large and small, some of which are prestigious and nationally recognised. For some schemes we have taken simple ideas and developed them into concept layouts proving their viability to developers and planners.  We are conversant with planning law and in addition to obtaining planning permission for our own schemes we have helped developers to navigate through the planning process and resolve any resultant planning conditions. Over the years we have undertaken and commissioned many specialist surveys to inform and guide designs and support planning applications.  Working closely with architects we have shaped schemes, so they seamlessly blend into the existing built environment.

We pride ourselves in promoting sustainable developments and we always strive to include environmental improvements into the schemes in which we are involved.  Our team has designed and managed large-scale planting schemes, sustainable drainage systems (SuDs), wildflower meadows and a whole host of other environmental improvements and enhancements.  We have also undertaken the management of established habitats including woodlands, meadows, reedbeds, ponds, rivers and streams, always with key objectives that include increasing biodiversity and to promote population by indigenous species.

Our skills also include office and accounts management, so we have quite a well-rounded team ready to work with you.
